In this mini-lesson, students explore dragon stories of ancient cultures while they consider whether dragons could be real, extinct, or made-up.
Here are some writing prompts to help students reflect on the mini-lesson. Feel free to copy and paste them into an assignment.
Bonus Activity: A fire-breathing dragon would be amazing! But no one has ever discovered a living animal that breathes real fire. Why do you think that is? Imagine what it would be like to have blazing hot fire come out of your mouth! What problems do you think that might cause? Describe these problems or draw a picture that shows them.
