In this mini-lesson, students explore different places that salt can be found, and how salt came to be there.
Here are some writing prompts to help students reflect on the mini-lesson. Feel free to copy and paste them into an assignment.
Bonus Activity: How salty is ocean water? Add one teaspoon of salt to 1 1/4 cups of water. Stir until the salt disappears. Put a drop of the salty water on your tongue. It will taste just as salty as ocean water! Leave the salty water in a warm spot until all the water dries up. What is left behind?
