In this mini-lesson, students gain a deeper understanding of lava and it's different stages.
Here are some writing prompts to help students reflect on the mini-lesson. Feel free to copy and paste them into an assignment.
Bonus Activity: Hot lava is a liquid that flows. Cold lava is solid rock. This happens to other solid things, like chocolate. When chocolate gets warm, it melts. When it cools down, it becomes solid chocolate. What other things do this? If you can’t think of any, take a look in your refrigerator or freezer for foods that can melt. Other than food, can you think of anything else that melts?
