Solar System Trip Planner Rubric teacher-only resource | 30 copies |
Stars & Planets Teacher Guide teacher-only resource | 1 copy |
Before starting this lesson, review the unit Teacher Guide for an overview of the Stars & Planets Anchor Layer.
In addition to the information contained within the lessons in this unit, you can provide your students with books, websites, or other resources that they can use to gather information about the various planets and moons within our solar system. While not necessary, it is a great opportunity for students to extend the depth and breadth of their knowledge.
Students can work individually or in pairs. Each student or pair will need one copy of the Solar System Trip Planner packet.
With your students, begin the lesson. It begins with a brief unit review. Then, move through the activity. The activity includes a step-by-step guide and discussion questions.
Support an argument that differences in the apparent brightness of the sun compared to other stars is due to their relative distances from Earth.
